Pattie PTCO Meeting Minutes 02/12/08

Meeting called to order at 7:05.

Members Present: Pam Johnson, Kamey Tippett, Lori Hancock, Margie Otterblad, Stephanie Gatewood, Julie White, Becky Lehto, Tina Wiley and Karen Fernan.

1. Approval of January 2008 PTCO meeting minutes
a. Motion made by Kamey Tippett approve minutes, motion seconded by Pam Johnson and carried by majority.

2. Principal’s Report
a. We will have a Health Fair on Saturday, April 26 at Pattie
b. We are looking for companies to display health related information or provide 15-20 demonstration (examples are Karate, Jazzercise)
c. PE purchased Dance Revolution mats which will be demonstrated.
d. We will have a Jog-a-thon booth for sponsors for next year.
e. Any interested can contact Melinda Brownell at Pattie.

3. Presidents Report
a. $400 was raised at the McDonald’s Spirit Night on 2/11.
b. Valentine’s Day Chocolate Roses – We purchased 1447 chocolate roses and made approximately $730. Many thanks to Kamey for coordinating the fundraiser.
c. Health Fair Puppet Show and Uncle Sam’s reading show will be reviewed for next year’s budget.
d. New website is available at www.pattieptco.org. Please send any updates of information to Mary Hustwayte at hustwamk@pwcs.edu. We will include the website on all future flyers and in all newsletters.
e. Spring Fun Fair is scheduled for Saturday, June 7. We will have jumpers, popcorn, hot dogs, snow cones, cotton candy and prices are to be determined. Food will be supplied to volunteers who will be given a ticket. All volunteers need to be given assigned jobs prior to the fair. Tina Wiley has the prizes and games from last year.

4. 2007-2008 Budget
a. Kelly Andrews was not present, but the budget was reviewed and approved.

5. Movie Night
a. Friday, March 7 at Hylton High School. The movie will be Meet the Robinsons.
b. Meal prices will be $12 for pizza and four drinks. Extra pizza will be $7.
c. Poppa John’s will be supplying the pizza.
d. Need to purchase at $75 site license for Hylton High School.
e. Need projector and laptop.
f. The tech will need to be paid.

6. Campbell Soup Labels – cutting will be done on Thursday, February 21 at 6:30 at Kamey’s.

7. Original Art Work
a. We will be doing a fund raiser using the student’s artwork to create products like mugs, tshirts, garden flags, etc. All products can be seen at www.originalworks.com
b. Time line is
- Complete Artwork 2/29 - Send art work home to parents for orders                     3/4
- Deadline for school orders     3/12
- Orders back to school            4/22
- Distribute orders                    week of 4/25

8. Jog-A-Thon
a. Need letter head and list of possible sponsors.

9. Longaberger Basket Bingo is a possibility for next year, but we still need to find a location possible Hillendale Firehouse. Tina Wiley said there was a similar event at Nokesville Firehouse on 2/29. Need more research before final decision can be made.
